Tim Howe for Judge

TIMOTHY M. HOWE FOR JUDGE

A Passion for Justice.

A Judge must be passionate about the Law and Justice. Tim has that passion. He strongly believes that our legal system must treat every citizen with dignity and respect and will work to make sure that it does. Whether you are rich or poor, whether you have hired the most expensive attorneys in the state or are representing yourself, you’ll be treated fairly in any courtroom presided over by Tim Howe.

Experience.

A Judge must have detailed knowledge of courtroom procedure. Tim has more than fifteen years of trial experience. Dozens of jury trials. Hundreds of bench trials. Appellate briefs and argument. And as a certified arbitration chair in the Illinois Supreme Court’s mandatory arbitration program, he’s presided over many pre-trial arbitrations in a variety of civil matters.

Tim represents entrepreneurs, small and mid-size businesses in his practice. As a partner in Klevatt & Associates, LLC, a four-person law firm, he’s also a small business owner himself. He understands that the litigation process can be expensive and complex, and will make sure that his courtroom efficiently handles cases to make it less likely that one party with deep pockets doesn’t just spend its opponent into submission. Tim believes that cases should be determined on the merits – the facts and the law – and not on who has the most money to spend in court.

Community Involvement.

Tim and his wife Beth have lived in Wauconda for more than eight years, where they enjoy boating on Bangs Lake and the many exciting opportunities in southwestern Lake County. He was recently elected First Vice President of the Wauconda Lions Club, continuing a long tradition of service to the community that runs in his family. Tim’s also an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

Legal Leadership.

Tim is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He has served as chairperson for various Chicago Bar Association committees, and has been active in advancing legal education for the general public through the CBA’s You & The Law cable television program as both a host and producer. Tim is also a member of the board of directors of the Illinois Creditors Bar Association, the nation’s oldest and largest state group dedicated to protecting and advancing the rights of creditors in the legal system.

Tim graduated from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law with honors. He attended law school at night while holding down a full-time job in broadcasting. And while in law school was part of a mock trial team that advanced to the finals of the National Criminal Justice Trial Advocacy Competition.

Tim is also a graduate of Quincy College, with a degree in Political Science, and a graduate of Marist High School on Chicago’s south side.
